In October 2018, our company signed a contract with Slavneft-Megionneftegaz for development of a prototype multi-agent system for managing teams that carry out well workover.

Slavneft-Megionneftegaz is a modern oil and gas production enterprise developing oil and gas fields in the Nizhnevartovsk, Surgut and Nefteyugansk regions of the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District — Ugra. There are 28 license areas in the production area of Megion oilmen.
Stabilization of oil and gas production is a strategic objective of the enterprise. To solve it, Megionneftegaz is actively introducing advanced technologies, cooperating with the largest industry-specific research and development centers.

Currently, the following problems have been identified during planning for well workover teams:
— uneven load of teams and equipment,
— inefficient use of resources during work
— downtime.
In general, the level of work planning leaves much to be desired — a significant volume of applications is executed with deviations of up to several days.

The aim of the project is to assess the applicability of multi-agent technology for creation of a work plan for well workover teams in real time based on the incoming data, as well as taking into account the experience gained in previously performed similar work. The overall task is to reduce the calendar duration of repairs, obtain additional production and transparency of the production process.

The prototype will solve the problem of creating a plan based on the applications received by the system and the information contained in the knowledge base about the time of their execution in two types of detailing: operative for the current day and strategic for the current week and month. Also, the task includes a number of other functions that will allow users to monitor and control the work process. Multi-agent technology is generally used to increase the level of controllability and the quality of work planning, which is to be checked under the current contract when solving the task of managing well workover teams.
