Our business highlights

We develop and implement the new methodology of network enterprise management «Smart Enterprise» and in support of this methodology we also create intelligent real-time resource management systems.

The proposed methodology supports the intrapreneurial approach and self-organization of actors. It also creates conditions for development of talents, knowledge and skills, will and energy of people. Hierarchy gives way to networks of business centers and knowledge centers; human interaction is not regulated and is based on the internal market; people are working in project teams and are focused on getting results, while their salaries and bonuses are calculated dynamically and are not limited at all.

In support of the developed methodology, we create intelligent systems and the most advanced information technologies, aimed at increasing the efficiency of resource management and at solving other extremely complex problems that are difficult or impossible to solve using classical mathematical methods.

The basis of our developments is multi-agent technology, which has marked a paradigm shift in information technology: the shift from traditional centralized and hierarchical, large, monolithic and sequential programs — to self-organization of small stand-alone software objects (agents) capable of interaction and negotiation, identifying conflicts and reaching a compromise to the benefit of the common whole.

As a result, we support implementation of the most important principles of self-organization at all levels, both in enterprise management and in applied software systems. This drastically, but at the same time in an evolutionary way, changes the principles of enterprise operation, the quality and efficiency of resource management decisions.

A paradigm shift in science means that the traditional problem statements, models of objects and phenomena, as well as the methods of solving emerging problems begin to change. Moreover, new classes of systems are created and qualitatively new results are being achieved.

Our vision of the future of intelligent systems of the new class, having «emergent intelligence» (in particular, «swarm intelligence»), forms the concept of Industry 5.0 and Smart Internet of people and things, where each entity has its representative agent acting on its behalf and in its interests.

As a result, we offer intelligent management systems that are more real-time, flexible, effective, productive, scalable, secure and survivable. These systems solve extremely complex problems in real time.

What sets us apart from the competition?

We solve complex problems of distribution, planning, optimization, coordination and control of resources in real time in situations when the quality and efficiency of decisions made depends on the very moment of decision-making.

In order to guarantee that, we develop entirely new models, methods and algorithms for solving complex problems, using the theory of complex adaptive systems, network-centric approach, ontology and multi-agent technology.

Within our approach, all complex schedules are built as dynamic self-organizing networks of agents representing orders and resources, business processes, tasks and technological operations, products, machines, tools, materials, documents, etc.

This approach makes the structure of our systems similar to systems of nature and wildlife, built on the principles of self-organization and evolution, such as an ant colony or a swarm of bees.

Why is it high-demand in the market?

Our solutions are in demand in today’s global economy with its continuously growing complexity of decision-making, increased uncertainty and dynamics of supply and demand changes.

We felt an urgent need for our systems and technologies for the first time during the 2008 financial crisis, when many companies quickly realized how important it is to be able to complete more orders with fewer resources, i.e. to increase their own efficiency.

The main distinguishing feature and value of our approach to solving this problem is helping businesses make decisions on allocation of resources in real time. A typical example: a report should come on Friday but the decisions have to be made on Tuesday, thus it could be already too late and an important order might be missed or, on the contrary, resources could be waiting in vain for an order that had been already cancelled or postponed for some reason.

Otherwise, if decisions are not made in real time, there is always implicit or explicit overstock or shortage of products or resources, down time or idle run, delays in execution of important orders, decreasing quality, increasing costs and risks, etc.

This approach often requires both creating a new class of intelligent management systems and business management reforms to make enterprises more open, flexible and effective.

In our experience, transition to real-time decision-making enables enterprises to quickly increase their efficiency by 20-40%.

In practice this allows our clients to compensate all the costs of creation and implementation of our systems in 3-6 months.

What software systems do we create?

Multi-agent technology provides the possibility to develop a new generation of intelligent resource management systems that are capable of functioning autonomously in interaction with the environment and their users (just like «co-pilots» constantly (24/7) accompanying the enterprise operation) and can, like the simplest living organisms, respond quickly to important events, flexibly and adaptively plan and re-plan their work and continuously monitor achievement of results, predict the occurrence of problem situations and eliminate their causes in a timely manner.

In the developed systems, we apply the principles of Distributed Problem Solving, which have always been used by people in their practical activity. These principles work as follows: if a new task is very complex, we divide it into parts and independently solve the new smaller problems, and then assemble the general solution from these parts, resolving conflicts on the borders of decision areas.

This approach has equally well established itself in solving such problems as production planning and supply chain planning, scheduling hundreds of trains on the same operating domain, recognition of complex images, or pipelines installation in spacecrafts, etc.

A new direction in development of the described systems is related to creating knowledge bases with ontologies, according to the Semantic Web principles.

In this approach, we try to separate the domain knowledge, on the basis of which the system generates variants of solutions, from the software code of the system, and make this knowledge available to the users of our systems.

In addition, such separation of knowledge from the source code in the future will allow the system to educate itself with minimal human involvement, in order to conform with the constantly changing logics of decision-making and negotiation.

Use of ontologies helps reduce labor intensity of support and development of the proposed systems, and thus reduce the lead time and cost of their development and implementation, as well as the cost of ownership and operation.

Finally, to address the extremely complex resource management tasks, we use the network-centric approach that allows us to create any complex management system from the self-similar ones, interacting on pier-to-pier principles through the common enterprise bus.

For example, intelligent management systems of large production plants can be arranged that way, consisting of intelligent management systems of individual workshops. Another example can be an intelligent railway transport management system, which can include intelligent management systems for individual stations, etc.

In today’s complex systems management theory, this approach is called recursive breakdown of a complex system into self-similar systems at any level — for instance, a complex workshop in the above-mentioned example, in its turn, can also be represented by a set of intelligent systems for the individual workstations.

It allows for creating any complex systems as scalable homogeneous fractal-like structures built on the principles of self-organization.

Where are our systems used?

Our technology and solutions are developed and used for solving extremely complex problems that are difficult or impossible to be solved by classical mathematical methods and means.

We manage cargo flow of the International Space Station (Russian segment); maintain the schedule of high-speed «Sapsan» trains and 800 other trains on the Moscow-Saint Petersburg operating domain; create schedules of cargo trains on single-track and double-track paths of the Baikal-Amur railway; schedule daily shift tasks for workers and foremen in aircraft and rocket engine assembly workshops; schedule hundreds of continuously moving trucks equipped with GPS / GLONASS sensors; manage dozens of emergency repair mobile teams using cell phones; manage the operation of international supply chains for food and toy stores, etc.

Our models, methods and tools are particularly effective when it is important to change plans «on the fly» and make decisions depending on the events coming in real time, such as emergence of a new order, a sudden breakdown of a resource, delay in execution of operations, etc.

Among our customers are JSC “Rocket and Space Corporation «Energia», JSC «Russian Railways», machine-building enterprises JSC «Aviaagregat», JSC «Izhevsk Motor Plant «Axion-Holding», JSC «Kuznetsov», transport companies JSC «Lorry», LLC «Monopolia» and LLC «Prologics», housing and communal enterprises LLC «SVGK» (“Middle-Volga Gas Company”), LLC «Watersupply concessions». We have also been working with such foreign clients as LEGO Corporation, EASD and Airbus, Coca-Cola, and a number of other large enterprises.

Results of implementations in some of these companies can be found in the «Implementation examples» section.

What are the main results of our implementations?

Implementation of our systems in enterprises improves the efficiency of resource use by 20-40%, thus increasing their profitability and cost-effectiveness.

In addition, we guarantee increased efficiency and flexibility in decision-making, improved quality of work, reduced time for delivery of goods or provision of services, reduced risks and penalties. We also automate the process of solving extremely complex tasks of allocation, planning, optimization, coordination and control of resources and reduce management labor intensity, at the same time minimizing dependence on the human factor and helping create software platforms for enterprise growth without increasing the number of managerial staff.

Finally, we help reform the enterprise management, motivating employees to achieve outstanding results.

What are our prospects?

We are convinced that further development of the global economy urgently requires development of knowledge-based situational management principles as well as decision-making and analysis of scheduling results «on the fly» in real time.

This vision leads us to a radical change of the whole enterprise management paradigm, with transition from outdated hierarchies — to network organizations with business centers and knowledge centers; from «top-down» instructions — to pier-to-pier negotiations; from financing of structures — to financing of results. In these conditions information technology will also be changing radically — with a gradual transition to a new generation of intelligent distributed self-organizing enterprise management systems to the level of not only individuals, but also things.

Our work is also dedicated to creation of such all-round Internet of people and things. Our developments help businesses become more efficient.

Welcome to the world of Information Technology of the future!
